A good friend of mine suggested I work on learning a new form of social media. I thought it was a great idea in theory. Except the part where I’m very online web illiterate. See? I bet that’s not really the correct way of saying it. Yep. You saw that right. I can handle Microsoft Word pretty well, but ask me to get online and find something? Forget it. I’m keyword challenged and social media inept. Ask any of my friends. So this new proposal was met with trepidation to say the least.
One thing I knew was how much I love photographs. And taking time to work on my own pictures is way less painful than dictating my life to the public. That left Pinterest and Instagram to pick from. I’m sure there are a bunch of sites (I almost put sights LOL) like them but I wanted one that was well known.
And Instagram won out! How much joy can a pic with little or no words bring to someone like me who is inundated with reading and writing everyday? Joy beyond comparison.
And the best part of the new venture? My friend agreed to help me figure it all out. I hope she knows how much I appreciate her!
So my adventure began. I followed her directions. She even had to explain to me how to search for topics on Instagram but I started and learned. I still am figuring things out. But I love it.
Do you have an Instagram account? Does it work for you? Let me know in comments.

I haven’t tried it yet, but am thinking about it. That or Flickr. I’d love to know how you like it!
It’s amazing! And easy to upload pics and fix them just the way you want them. But you pretty much have to have a smart phone to use it. My friend did find a way to get it on the computer but I don’t know how she did it. I’ll ask.
That’s so brave of you Erin! I need to get on Instagram too!
If you like to take pictures it’s great. Otherwise it’d just clog up your time.
